Belinda Yates -  Executive Head

I have over 30 years of teaching experience in private schools in Australia and Belgium, and in the last 12 years, I have been in leadership positions.   I have always been and continue to be involved with a variety of professional educational organisations such as the Council of English Speaking Schools in Belgium (CESSIB). I am the founder and one of the Google Education Group (GEG) leaders for Belgium. I am a proud mother of two and in my free time love walking and travelling.

Órla Mcloughlin - Head of Campus

I am originally from Ireland, but I have lived in Belgium for 25 years. I have over 30 years of teaching experience in both Ireland and Belgium, and in the last ten years, I have worked in leadership positions. I am passionate about international education, with a strong emphasis on global citizenship, which was the subject of my Master's in Educational Leadership at Portsmouth University. I enjoy running, cycling, walking our dog, cooking and sharing time with my family.

Cristina Bueno - Pre-Primary Teacher 

Originally from Girona, Spain, I've been in Belgium since the end of July 2020. I studied for a Bachelor's Degree in primary education and also held a nursery teaching certificate. At the moment, I'm studying a CLIL postgraduate as well as Dutch. I enjoy cooking, eating out, road-tripping, and going for walks. Passionate about exploring the world. I've lived in different countries, the USA, England, Finland, and Australia. I love being in a multicultural environment, and I'm very excited to be part of the ISF community!

Deborah Dodd - Year 4 Teacher

I am from British Columbia, Canada, and I have been living in Belgium for three years.  I have over twelve years of teaching experience from schools in Canada and the United Kingdom. ISF is a wonderful school with so much positive energy!  I enjoy an array of outdoor activities, yoga, cooking, and traveling with my family.

Darien Scholtz - Year 2 Teacher 

I was born and raised in Pietersburg, South Africa. I have recently moved to Belgium and I am excited to join ISF. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Foundation Phase Education at the picturesque campus of the North-West University in Potchefstroom. I'm also a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. I'm enthusiastic about my profession and enjoy reading in my free time.

Irene Ruiz Moreno

Coming from the beautiful Mediterranean city of Málaga,  I am a primary teacher with several years of experience in Spain, Ireland and Belgium. I hold a teaching degree from the University of Málaga and am currently finishing my master's degree in Spanish Literature at Universidad Autónoma of Madrid. Outside of teaching, I like reading and cinema and enjoy staying active through yoga and bouldering. Excited to join ISF and looking forward to being part of a multicultural community!

Maria Gomez - Music

I was born and raised in Venezuela, where I developed myself as an artist with  “El Sistema” and the “Simon Bolivar” Symphony Orchestra. I came to Belgium in 2018 to study for my Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Music at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. I also play as an academist and cello substitute with professional orchestras and ensembles. I love teaching in an international and multicultural environment, and I am delighted to be part of the ISF community. I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Julie Boyd - Deputy Head of Campus, Year 5 - 6 Teacher

I have been teaching for over 30 years and have been fortunate to teach throughout the United Kingdom, Germany, Cyprus, and now Belgium. I have taught in various school establishments, from small village schools to large inner-city schools and Service Children’s schools. I am very proud of being the Deputy Head of ISF Tervuren and being part of a diverse multicultural community. I have an Art degree from Cardiff University alongside a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). I love to walk my dogs and I am passionate about supporting my football team - Southampton FC.

Débora Roessing - EAL Teacher

I am from Brazil. Prior to moving to Europe, I worked for over ten years as a teacher of English as a second language in primary and secondary schools in Brazil. I moved to Europe in 2013, following my husband, first in Belgium and then in Luxembourg. In addition to my English language teacher qualification, I hold a Master’s degree in Educational Sciences from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to music, cooking, and exploring the world.

Juan Francisco Betancourt - School Counsellor

I am Ecuadorian, born and raised in Quito. I have lived and travelled to many countries around the world. I am a psychologist and did my postgraduate of 'International Teacher' in Belgium because I fell in love with the international educational environment as soon as I stepped into a classroom as a teacher. I've been a teacher of psychology, history and linguistics for the last 5 years. My passions are sports (mainly swimming and MMA), but I also love to read and write in my free time.

Niki Daun -  Data Protection Officer

I'm from the United Kingdom but brought up mostly in Sweden, with American international education, so I feel very much at home in the ISF community! I've been in Brussels for 20 years, freelancing, volunteering, and recently completed my Degree in psychology - while raising two kids. I indulge in creative photography, cooking, and long walks in the forest with my dog in my free time.

Istvan Szonyi - Maintenance & Bus Driver

I am from Hungary, and I've embarked on a new chapter in Belgium with my family. My professional journey began as an accountant, but the uneventful pace of office life eventually prompted me to make a significant career shift towards transportation. This transition has injected fresh energy and excitement into my work life, and the opportunity at ISF is a perfect way to embrace this further. I find solace and joy in outdoor activities with my son and daughter.

Sara Hoff - Pre-school Teacher 

I am originally from the United Kingdom and have been living in Belgium for the last 7 years. I have over 25 years of teaching experience in many schools in the UK, Germany, the USA, and Belgium. I am passionate about teaching and aim to inspire a love of learning. I enjoy the outdoors; I love cycling, going for long walks with my dog, and travelling to new places.  I also like reading and crafting.

Szilvia Szonyi - Year 1 Teacher 

I am originally from Hungary, and I have been living in Belgium for the past 6 years. I am a BA-certified teacher and have been working with small children since I was a teenager. I have worked in ISF Daycares for the past 4.5 years, and I am excited to get to know the children and staff from the school as well. I enjoy yoga as a sport and doing cross country with my dog.

I am from Jamaica, and I have lived in Belgium with my husband for over a year. I love working with children and I also love being a part of a multicultural environment.  I love going to the gym and playing pool with my friends. I am looking forward to getting to know the ISF community better.

Angela Phanopoulos - Finance & HR Manager

Originally from Greece, I was born and grew up in Zambia and lived in Belgium for over 30 years.  I have a scientific research background and first joined the school community as a parent many years ago.  As part of the admin team, I appreciate the school's multicultural character and enjoy working between the two school campuses looking after the finances and staff.

Morgane Kermer - French Teacher

I was born and raised in Belgium. After my studies to become a teacher, I went to Atlanta to perfect my English. Back in Belgium, I taught for 4 years in traditional and specialised Belgian schools. Subsequently, for 2 years, I taught French in an immersion school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Since this extraordinary experience, I have taught French in international schools in Brussels. I am very happy to have been part of ISF for 7 years now and to teach French to children using many different strategies and methods to help them develop their skills in the language.
