Earthquake Simulation 2025

In Year 4, our class worked in groups to create exciting earthquake simulations. Each group
built a DIY seismograph and tested it on two different surfaces: a smooth tabletop and a
bumpy carpet/cushion. The big question was: "Will the recorded results from our DIY
seismograph be the same or different?"

Everyone eagerly shook their setups, mimicking an earthquake, while recording results. The
smooth surface showed crisp, distinct vibrations, while the carpet softened the impact,
producing different readings. It was thrilling to see science in action and learn how surface
types influence seismic activity, making the experiment both fun and educational!
